For Woodward High School senior Theron Endersby, FFA has become much more than an extracurricular activity. Through shooting sports, community service, and leadership opportunities, Endersby has found a place to compete, grow, and represent his school and community with pride.
Endersby first joined FFA because of his interest in shooting sports. What began as an opportunity to participate in a sport he enjoys has developed into a larger commitment to the organization. Now a senior, Endersby is involved in shooting sports, serves his community through FFA activities, and holds an officer position.
Shooting sports remain at the center of his FFA experience. The competition allows him to measure his progress, set higher goals, and continue working toward improvement. His favorite FFA memory came through that competitive side of the program when he won at the Oklahoma Youth Expo for the third consecutive year.
“Winning OYE for the 3rd time in a row.”
For Endersby, the drive to improve is what keeps him focused. Whether he is practicing shooting sports, participating in FFA events, or taking on responsibilities as an officer, he is motivated by the chance to continue moving forward.
“The opportunity to do better and go further.”
He also values the responsibility that comes with representing Woodward High School and the community. Endersby understands that his efforts reflect on more than himself, especially when he competes and serves others through FFA.
“It means everything. I’m representing more than just myself.”
Endersby credits friends who graduated last year as important influences in his development. Their example showed him that success requires commitment, especially in the activities and sports that matter most.
“They taught me that to improve at sports or activities you love doing, you have to be willing to put in the work.”
He also appreciates the impact of Mrs. Service, a teacher who has made a difference during his high school years.
“She’s the first teacher I’ve had in a long time who truly cared about her students’ education.”
As he finishes his senior year, Endersby continues to build on a strong FFA career defined by work ethic, leadership and a desire to keep improving.
