Woodward’s Airyn Farley – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by Banc Central

Throughout the career of an athlete, they make many memories. Some of these are things that happen on the field, while others take place away from the games. Airyn Farley says that her favorite memories of playing sports have been growing and bonding with her teammates.

“The top moments of my career are spending quality time with my teammates and coaches,” she said. “The strong bonds that grow throughout the year are very memorable and heartwarming. Being able to play with them, no matter the outcome of the game is always the best part. Having fun and making forever-lasting memories is the highlight of my sports career.”

Farley is a senior at Woodward High School. She is a member of the Lady Boomer’s softball, soccer, and dance teams. She says that becoming the best athlete that she can be has taken a lot of work and dedication.

“It has taken many, many, many hours of practice for me to get to where I am today,” Airyn said. “There is also a lot of hard work, leadership, a positive mindset, and my coaches pushing me to be successful in all my sports.”
Though she has put in a lot of work, Farley has not done it alone. She has had people by her side, cheering her along the whole way.

“My family has been one of the biggest influences on my life,” she said. “They helped me grow to be the person I am today. Helping me grow and learn from their mistakes and experiences they have faced. Encouraging me to be the best version of myself and not only grow as an individual but help others grow too.”

Farley is also a member of the National Honor Society, Key Club, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, SALT, Pep Club, and Sub Debs.

Since she was young, Airyn has had a dream that she is now fulfilling, and she is loving.

“Having the opportunity to play and represent my hometown has always been a childhood dream,” she said. “Knowing that I have accomplished that goal makes me very proud. Having the chance to wear Woodward across my chest is a memory I will never forget.”
