Woodward boys basketball player Jesus Cano has been named an unsung hero for the 2021-22 season.
“His presence in the low post make everyone around him better.” – Head Coach Jonathan Roper
VYPE: What do you love most about your team and teammates?
Cano: My team and teammates mean a lot to me since I’ve been playing with some of these guys since eighth grade and I’ve seen how far we’ve come as individual players and as a team.
VYPE: What does it mean to you to be called the unsung hero of the team?
Cano: To me being the unsung hero is hustling for a loose balls and doing other small things that help the team win, but aren’t recognized by most people.
VYPE: What grade are you in and what would you like to do after you graduate?
Cano: I’m a senior and I hope to play college basketball and get a degree.
