Woodward High School’s Kash Carter

Woodward High School senior Kash Carter is more than just a quarterback — he is a leader shaped by hard work, accountability and the relationships he has built along the way.

Carter, who is entering 12th grade, credits much of his drive to his father. “He is a hard worker and he has taught me to never give up when things get hard,” Carter said. That mindset has carried over into both the classroom and athletics, where he lists history with Mrs. Baker as his favorite subject and teacher.

On the field, Carter embraces the responsibility that comes with playing quarterback, even when it is challenging. “The most difficult thing about that position would be the pressure it brings,” he said.

Despite that pressure, Carter thrives in competitive moments. One of his favorite memories came during a homecoming victory. “Beating Alva on homecoming was a great feeling,” he said.

Beyond wins and losses, Carter values the connections formed through football. “Definitely the relationship you build with the team,” he said when asked what he enjoys most. He also admires his team’s resilience, adding, “I love how we are so quick to fight through adversity.”

Carter’s journey has been influenced by teammates as well, particularly Cooper Littau. “He was the best upperclassman to lift me up before games,” Carter said.

Off the field, Carter stays active with baseball and participates in pep club during basketball season. In his free time, he enjoys hunting, golf and pickleball, often spending time at Boiling Springs, a favorite local spot.

Football has also provided lessons that extend beyond high school. “It has taught me accountability, time management, and work ethic,” Carter said.

As he prepares for his final season, Carter continues to focus on leadership, preparation and perseverance — qualities that define both his game and his character.
