VYPE: What are your goals for yourself and your team this season?
Cole: My goal is to be competitive and be able to play to the best of my ability. Our team has set a goal to qualify for state. We are a young team, and our goal is to qualify every year and place.
VYPE: What is the most fun you have had in the last year?
Cole: When the boys and I drove to Buffalo, OK and played Doby Springs Golf Course. It’s fun to go to different courses and be challenged.
VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade or coach and why?
Cole: My golf coach, Shane Pinckard. He is the coolest coach. He understands our sense of humor and definitely has a lot of patience with us.
VYPE: What is your favorite athletic memory?
Cole: Last year was my first year to play competitive golf. It was definitely a challenge. I worked hard and made the team competing at second bag which was a big honor. I shot my personal best at Regionals last year, shaving off at least 10-15 strokes from the beginning of the season.
VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?
Cole: Gavin Fuqua – he was a senior when I was a freshman last year. He was a great leader to a young team. I know we drove him crazy, but he was always so nice to us. We all became good friends, and we miss playing golf with him.
VYPE: Who on your team has the best impression of your coach and who says the funniest things during games?
Cole: Michael Logan. We call him Shaggy. And he plays the music that Coach Pinckard likes.
VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation. Who do you take and where do you go?
Cole: Bahamas with the boys for beach and golf.
VYPE: If we gave you 500 dollars and you had to spend it in the next 24 hours, how would you spend it?
Cole: I would buy new wedges.
VYPE: Here is your chance to say hello, goodbye or thank you to anyone you wish.
Cole: I would thank God for blessing me with a great life, family, and friends.
