Alex Staats is a senior wrestler for Woodward High School. This year Staats is wrestling at 132-pounds and is someone coach Weatherhead is excited to see compete this year.
We caught up with the senior to find out what he loves about competing for Woodward High School and what his future may hold.
VYPE: Alex, what do you love most about your team and teammates at Woodward?
Staats: The dedication they have to the sports to help everyone get better.
VYPE: Do you have a favorite teacher at Woodward?
Staats: Mr. Greff. He always had a joke of the day.
VYPE: What are your plans after you graduate?
Staats: I want to learn jujitsu and go into the work force.
VYPE: What’s been your most memorable moment wrestling for Woodward?
Staats: The time the team stayed in a hotel for a tournament, and we played games and just had time to grow as a team.
VYPE: When you return for your ten-year reunion, who will be your most successful classmate?
Staats: Without a doubt, Colby Covalt.
